This week I spent quite a bit. Let me break it down :
I bought my friend a card for their birthday, that was small change. While getting the card, I decided to take a look in a store at some jeans because I have only one pair of jeans which I like and fit properly, and it gets somewhat embarrassing to wear the same pair of jeans every time I see my friends. I found a pair I loved, and put them on hold until the next day, so that I could have time to think it over and ask my boyfriend to come see them (because you know how much men like to go clothes shopping with women!).
On Monday I went back, tried them on, and really loved them still. I knew that they wouldn’t be cheap, but they’re a great quality and will last me several years of a lot of use. I’m so over buying cheap clothing because it falls apart in three washes. By the time you are done with the cheap stuff it ends up costing you more than some more expensive, good quality items.
Friday I bought my medication. Booo, to not being covered under my parents insurance. It’s $50 every three months, so it’s pretty reasonable. And I am hoping I soon will be covered under my boyfriend’s work insurance, I just need to look into at what length of time living together we become technically common-law, and therefore I become entitled to be under his benefits. I can’t wait to go to the dentist without having to pay (all of) the bill.
This weekend I am working. Busy night which hopefully means lots of tips for me ! Have a great weekend everyone !
I’m trying to buy higher quality clothes these days too. It lasts longer, it looks good for longer, and I have less waste, less shopping, and end up spending less money (I think!). It’s always hard for me to shell out that money, though, even when I know I’ll have a good cost-per-wear.
Exactly! Tough to part with the money up front but I do think it’s worth it. Some of the quality stuff I bought in high school (7 years ago, YIKES!) I am just getting rid of now… yet the cheaper items I’ve bought I’m getting rid of after 5 wears. So not worth it !
